Topic: FINISHING STRONG [VI]
Scripture: Colossians 3:1-4
1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5. If you must finish well and strong, you must run with sense of purpose, when you run with God’s purpose, you will be focused and you will finish well and strong. There won’t be distraction when you are running with the PURPOSE of God for your life.
6. Those who will finish well are those in love with God [Romans 8:35].
Love for God and His work is very crucial, When love is your motivating factor, you can go through any storm. People in love don’t complain. Jesus never complained what He suffered for us on the cross, He was praying that God should forgive His persecutors.
6. You must SHUN distractions if you must finish well. Distraction can come in any form, it can come as a trial. Joseph’s eye was fixed on the goal and he got the gold. “when you fix your eyes on the goal, you will get the gold”
Alot of people are out of the race because of distraction, distraction from worldliness. You must strongly hold your hand in commitment to God’s work.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. [Luke 9:62]
7. If you must finish well and strong, you must hold firmly your profession and your commitment to God. Offences will definitely come but that shouldn’t affect your love for God.
8. Set your affection on things above so you can finish well and strong. [Colossians 3:1-7]. Don’t go after worldly pleasures. Worldly pleasures are temporal not permanent, you will enjoy life eternal when you set your affection on things above.

I pray for you, the Lord will help you to overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life in Jesus Name. Every spirit or arrow planted into your heart that always makes you to misbehave towards or against your helpers, today that arrow is gone back to the sender and that spirit dies by fire in Jesus Mighty Name.AMEN!
